Hearts Quilt

Happy New Year! I'm happy to show you my latest finished project! This is my third completed quilt, first queen size (the other two were throws). I made this one for my aunt for Christmas.

I expected to struggle while handling the extra material but it wasn't bad at all; similar to a throw size, just took a bit longer to do the stitching on top. I went with simple vertical lines for the quilting to keep it simple and to make sure I finished in time for Christmas.

I designed the quilt myself, because I wanted to make it original and personal. I also wanted to add a special touch by making it reversible. Personally I'm not sure if I like the front or the back better!

The back fabric is "puckered", which I realized partway through the quilting, but I liked the effect so I decided to lean into it. It adds a unique touch, and somehow reminds me of water or silk. :)

I had a lot of fun working on this one, and I can't wait to get started on my next project! I don't have anything lined up yet, so I'll be on the hunt for inspiration.
